The 4.0mm Cancellous Screw (Fully Threaded) is designed for fixation in soft metaphyseal and epiphyseal bone. The coarse threads provide excellent purchase in cancellous bone. Unlike the partially threaded variant, the fully threaded design maximizes fixation in the fragment where it is entirely contained, providing strong hold, but is typically not used for interfragmentary compression. It is commonly used for internal fixation where maximum thread purchase across a short distance is needed, such as in the foot, ankle, wrist, and elbow.
Key Features
-
Cancellous Thread Pitch: Coarse threads provide strong grip in soft bone.
-
Fully Threaded: Threads span the entire length, maximizing fixation in the cancellous bone but not providing interfragmentary compression.
-
Screw Diameter: 4.0mm, suitable for fixation in small to medium-sized joints.
-
Primary Use: Used for fixation in metaphyseal fractures where compression is not the primary goal, but strong, stable purchase is required.
-
Material Options: Available in Stainless Steel and Titanium.
